Relimin 2,4-D is a post-emergent, selective, and systemic herbicide designed for effective control of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds in narrow-leaf crops. Mode of Action
Relimin 2,4-D acts as a synthetic auxin (plant hormone) absorbed through leaves. The herbicide moves systemically through the plant, causing uncontrolled growth and distortion of broad-leaved weeds, leading to their death. Narrow-leaf crops remain unaffected due to natural tolerance to 2,4-D.
Rates of Application
- 1–1.5 litres per hectare depending on weed density
- 100–150 ml in a 15–20 L knapsack sprayer
- Apply at early weed growth stage for optimal results
Precautions
- Avoid spraying during windy conditions to prevent drift
- Do not spray on sensitive broad-leaf crops like tomatoes, cocoyam, melon, or cowpea
- Wear protective clothing: gloves, mask, boots, and long sleeves
- Do not inhale spray mist or allow skin contact
- Wash equipment thoroughly after use
- Keep out of reach of children and animals
- Do not eat, drink, or smoke during application
- Store in a cool, dry place away from food and water sources
